Panda London is giving back to the community

HYH Herts Young Homeless

Hundreds of young people in Hertfordshire right now don’t have a place to call home and instead are facing uncertainty and fear. They might be sofa surfing, sleeping rough or living in a hostel, away from family and friends.

Since 1998, Herts Young Homeless has been preventing homelessness and providing education, advice and support to young people in the local community – to ensure that they have someone safe and knowledgeable to turn to.

“This week’s #thankyouthursday is dedicated to @PandaLondon who very generously have donated pillows, mattress protectors, mattress toppers, bedding and towels for our Future Roots residents.

All the products are made with hypoallergenic bamboo, are environmentally friendly, suitable for all sleepers and comply with the UK’s fire safety standards.

Our Future Roots project provides a five bedroom home to help transition vulnerable young people, aged 18 to 24 years old, from homelessness to independent living. These are predominantly young people who are leaving supported accommodation such as hostels. The aim of the work is to help the young person achieve the social and financial stability and the necessary level of confidence and emotional maturity that they need to live independently.

From everyone at hyh, thank you!” – @hertsyounghomeless

Something to Look Forward To

To help lift the spirits of people with cancer and aid their recovery, this charity provides them and their families with trips away, restaurant vouchers, tickets to shows and luxury items to be enjoyed at home.

Pandas

We’re really fond of pandas (you’d never have guessed!). Like us, they are rather keen on bamboo. So we regularly donate to animal charities that protect and preserve pandas and their natural habitats. With nearly double the population of panda bears existing in the wild as twenty years ago, these bears are no longer considered ‘endangered’ and the species was upgraded to ‘vulnerable’ in 2016.
